14A: Halfway Reflection
1. Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
- The behaviors that I have used most are time management and creativity. With time management, it's hard to set aside a block of time to get these assignments done every week. I do the assignments in my blocks of other things I am doing, and I have to try and get these assignments done in an effective and efficient way. I have also had to develop a more creative side so I am able to do this class in the most effective way. I have had to refine my time management skills and creativity skills to be able to approach this class in the most productive way.
2. Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
- One semester I was taking business law and intermediate accounting. I made a C on both the first 2 exams and I really felt like I studied and I felt down and wanted to give up. I then decided that I was going to start studying in advanced and in a more productive way. On both of the 2nd two exams, I pulled out As, this helped me pull through the rest of the semester. I do feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months because I have had to be very on top of my work. I think the elevator pitch contributed most to this because I had to plan and evaluate how I was going to go about this assignment.
3. Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset'?
- Be productive and proactive when it comes to this class. It is really easy to blow it off, but it's also really easy to get the work done when the week starts. Be proactive by planning when you will do the assignments, and set aside time for if the assignments take longer than you expect them too. This will help you become more tenacious and more productive when getting your work done.
- Refine your time management skills. This is the BIG one. Make sure you are setting aside good time to be productive for this class. This class isn't hard work, but it is a lot of work. Refining your time management skills will make sure that you are prepared when something goes wrong and you are not just waiting for the last minute to get it done.
- Figure out how YOU fuel your creativity. Everyone is creative in their own mindset, and this class helps you realize how you can be creative in an entrepreneurial way. This class will help you see a whole different side of yourself, so take it seriously.

Hi Logan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about your tenacious traits. There has been many times that I have felt like giving up but I have friends and family that helped pull me through. I agree with all of your tips for future students especially the one about time management skills. I feel that is the biggest thing in this class. Many times I have completely forgot to do work until the last minute because of the 12pm deadline.
