30A: Final Reflection
1. I would say as a whole this class is informative and important if you have no idea how to start your journey as an entrepreneur. I would say the high of this class was being able to put my thoughts about my opportunity on paper, and being able to develop my feelings of this opportunity. I would say my low of this semester was having to do certain assignments, my least favorite and the assignments I thought were not helpful were the book reflection assignments. I do not really have time to read 3 books in one semester, and having to do this took away time I needed for other classes. The assignment I dreaded most was the elevator pitch. It got better with each one, but overall I dreaded doing this one. I do think it probably helped me in the long-run, but I did not enjoy it.
2. My most formative experience was the Unfair Advantage assignment. This assignment made me think outside the box and really think about my unfair advantage and how this translates to my opportunity. The most joyous experience I had what the "bug" list. I thought this assignment was really fun and I really enjoyed getting to really think about things that bug me that I did not once realize. I am most proud of myself for reading the 3 books because I had to block out time of my schedule to do this and it was the first time I read a book in awhile.
3. I do not think that I am an entrepreneur, but I do think I am closer to it now than where I was at the beginning of the semester. I think I am now a more detailed person and I look at businesses and entrepreneurs in a whole new light.
4. I would say that future students need to think of a solid opportunity that applies to their life and drives their passion. I would say this they did this, they would probably find more joy in this course and they would probably not look at this course in a negative light. I would recommend that they start talking to the people that are closest to them to see what good opportunities present themself. This class will work if the student works, so that is all I will say.

Logan,
ReplyDeleteIt is normal for you to dread doing the elevator pitch, but at least you got it done so that next time you can do something like that with much more ease. The three books that you read were probably very interesting, I’m not sure why you dreaded it! I agree that whatever a student points into this class is whatever they get out of it!
Logan,
ReplyDeleteI had the opposite experience with the bug list. I hated doing the bug list because it made me really have to think about what bugged me. I agree with you that the students next year should think of a good opportunity before they start the class.
